Family Rambling – Fun. Family. Travel.

Last Updated on January 28, 2014 by Jody Halsted

If you've been to the Family Rambling website recently, you've noticed a few changes, beginning with the tagline, which better describes what Family Rambling is all about – Fun Family Travel.

The first thing you'll notice is the layout. It's really clean. The featured posts for the month are front & center – all the better to highlight each month's topic (February will be Presidents).

You'll also notice that the destination search has been moved to the top of the page to better help you find posts about places you want to visit. The plan is to have a page for each state/ foreign country and further classify posts by topics like hotels, restaurants, attractions and, for large states like Texas, geographical area.

When you open a post, you'll see that the images have been resized for a super-stunning display. Like this:

Yellow Mounds Overlook, Badlands National Park, South Dakota

And the very best part? The site is completely mobile responsive! If you don't have your mobile device handy, this fun site can give you a preview of how Family Rambling looks on various devices.

Another new and fun addition to Family Rambling…  a monthly newsletter! Coming out a few days before a new month begins, it will give you a preview of each month's featured topic, the posts you can expect, and the guest writers who will be featured.  In fact, now would be a great time to sign up for the first newsletter- it comes out Thursday!

And, finally, the site wouldn't be looking so great and coming together so quickly without the amazing skills of Deanna the Design Chicky.  If you're looking to build a visually stunning, easily navigable, inviting site, she's your gal. Take a look at her portfolio – I know you'll be impressed!

Thanks for sticking around during construction – and I'll see you in February with a bunch of amazing posts about where you can take a vacation of Presidential proportions in the US!
