Summer Travels 2012

School has ended here and it’s time for summer travel!

Ireland

The girls and I are spending 10 days in the Emerald Isle, visiting places we’ve never explored before.  I’ll be sharing all the craic, images and info over at Ireland with Kids- the only site online dedicated to family travel in Ireland.

Our First RV Adventure

One of the RVs available from Road Trip RV Adventures

Doug and I have always dreamed of owning an RV, but it’s a pretty big expense- and one that we can’t afford quite yet.  To “try it on”, so to speak, we’re renting an RV from a small, local company, Road Trip RV Adventures.  I’m really excited to have the extra room for the girls, as well as the savings on food and hotel.  We’ll be stopping at a few National Parks and national Monuments during our trek from central Iowa to Montana, and trying out a couple of KOA campgrounds.  It should be great fun!

Our RV adventure will take out to Bozeman, Montana, where we will leave the RV for a few days and get out into nature with Austin Lehman Adventures.  The Montana Family Adventure Vacation includes hiking, cycling, horseback riding and rafting in some of the most beautiful country in the United States.  It’s a fully guided vacation- and like nothing we’ve ever done before.  I can’t wait to experience it!

I am so excited to share these experiences!  Do you have any questions about family travel or the trips we have planned?

Where will your summer activities take you?
