Introduce Girls to Limitless Possibilities at Aviation Inspiration Day

Last Updated on December 24, 2012 by Jody Halsted

Saturday May 28 Fleming Field Airport in South St. Paul, MN is hosting a very special “girls only” event.  “Aviation Inspiration Day” is devoted to giving girls the opportunity to get “up close and personal” with aviation.

Lynda Meeks, a commercial pilot and former U.S. Army Pilot-in-Command, founded a non-profit organization called Girls With Wings, Inc. Meeks has presented her Aviation Inspiration Day message about what it takes to become a pilot, the necessary skills needed to learn to fly, as well as the opportunities available to anyone entering the aviation industry.

While the entire family is welcome to visit Fleming Field, see the WW II aircraft museum, tour the facilities and enjoy a free lunch, special programs will be available- just for the girls.

The presentations are $5 and will include lunch, presentations by women in the aviation industry, tours of Fleming Field and even a flight for some attendees.

For more information and to pre-register visit GirlsWithWings. Seating is limited to 30 participants per session.  Pre-registering will entitle participants to priority scheduling of Young Eagle flights (a parent or guardian must be on hand to fill out required forms.)
