Family Rambling is actually one of 3 websites I run, but I call it my ‘home’ because it is my oldest site and also the site where I let my *sparkling personality* {anyone else wish they had a sarcasm font?} shine through.

I’m a freelance writer happily based in the Midwest. Unless winter drags on too long, then I am grudgingly based in the Midwest.
I’m married to a man who should have been my high school sweetheart- but I was just too dumb to realize it.
We have two beautiful daughters who are growing up far too quickly.
I am obsessed with all things Ireland.
I love my RV.
And I actually just used one of my most hated words in the title of my about page.

It’s ‘nomadic’.
Enjoying a Life of Travel When You Have a Home Life
Doesn’t it seem like everyone wants to be nomadic these days? Everywhere you look you see people who sold everything for the freedom to travel. And you may think that you simply *must be nomadic* to travel well, to travel meaningfully, or to travel often.
Let me just say, that’s a load of crap. {there’s my sparkling personality again}
You can enjoy a life of travel when you have a home life… when you have a full time job… when your kids have activities… and even when you don’t make a huge amount of money.
We’ve been doing it, as a family, for 15 years.
We may not have the most stamps in our passports. We may not travel to the most exotic places. We may not always leave the Midwest.
But that doesn’t mean we don’t travel.
And I’d love to have you come along for the ride.
