Baby It’s Getting Cold Outside- Keep Warm this Winter with Heat Holders
Last Updated on July 10, 2019 by Jody Halsted
I've spent my entire life enduring winter in hearty (read: damn cold) northern climes. A childhood spent in Iowa, where the winter temperatures are measured in ‘feels like' degrees, to Minnesota where a warn winter day means the sun is out and there is no wind so 20°F means you shed your coat, to an ocean-side cottage near Boston where the cold combined with the wet meant your bones were always chilled.
And while I keep threatening to move into the RV and winter where it's always 72°, the truth is that my daughters' activities will keep us ‘enjoying' winter for a few more years… So I'm always on the lookout for products to help us keep warm.
Which is how I was introduced to Heat Holders. An inquiry into my email yielded a couple items for me to try: a pair of kids socks for my youngest (who is always cold) and a pair of leggings for myself.
Keep Warm this Winter with Heat Holders
OK, we have to talk about these socks! Look at the soft warmth you get to slide your foot into! While I've purchased plenty of thermal socks, these were the first that were so soft that my hand felt like it was being cuddled as I slid it into the sock.
My youngest snagged these immediately, slipping them onto her feet with a sigh and pronouncing them “super soft and snuggly”.
And she wears them all. the. time. As slippers in the evening. With her wellies when we walk the dog in the rain (I love that they are such cute boot socks- perfect for cuffing!) And I'm sure they'll be fabulous under her winter boots when it's time for sledding.
As for the leggings… let me first say I am not a ‘leggings as pants' person. But paired with a dress or for relaxing at home in an over-sized sweatshirt – yes please! I also think these would be terrific for layering under snow pants for winter activities like skiing or snowshoeing.
I really love the coziness of these. Though not as fuzzy on the inside as the socks, the leggings are still ‘soft and snuggly', perfect for curling up with a good book on a long winter afternoon.
My eldest daughter has already requested a pair of socks, which will likely make an appearance with her traditional Christmas PJs this year. I see at least one pair of fun striped socks for myself and I think my husband needs a pair of the USA flag socks.
Why Are Heat Holders So Warm?
Yep, I think these will do a fine job helping us keep warm this winter.
