Enjoy a family day out in Liverpool

Millions of tourists annually visit the English city of Liverpool, which best known for giving the world The Beatles. It is regarded as a family-friendly city and with plenty of family-friendly hotels Liverpool is an ideal place to take kids of all agesfor a few days or fora day trip.

Here are the pick of the things to do if you fancy a family day out in Liverpool.

The Yellow Duckmarine

Liverpool has an array of sites to see and the most child-friendly way to see as many of them as possible in one go is to hop on board the Yellow Duckmarine. The weird-looking vehicle takes you on a tour of the maritime city by road and by water. It’s fun, it’s brilliant entertainment and it’s also incredibly informative as you learn all about the city’s rich history. Yes, you may feel a little silly at the start of the tour sat in a giant yellow vehicle as you make your way out of the Albert Dock, past the Days Inn Liverpool and then head off cruising the streets, but you can bet your kids will love it.

The World Museum

There’s an array of interesting free museums in Liverpool ideal for keeping kids of all ages occupied for a few hours, one of which is the World Museum. Discover more about a range of topics, from the dinosaurs to the solar system. The Maritime Museum includes a host of interactive exhibitions at the city’s historic docks and the Tate Liverpool offers a very different cultural experience depending on how old your children are.

Anfield

The Anfield stadium tour is a stadium tour like no other. Home to one of the most iconic sporting institutions in the world, Anfield has a special aura surrounding it and you don’t need to be a Liverpool fan or indeed a football fan to appreciate what a unique place it is. Take a look around the museum and marvel at all the silverware amassed down the years and then explore the stadium before having your picture taken next to the ‘Welcome to Anfield’ sign in the tunnel.

Underwater Street

Situated right in the heart of Liverpool, Underwater Street is a discovery centre with over 50 interactive exhibits that’s divided up into six zones. There’s the imagination village, the lab, construction area, sensory area, art area and the physical zone. The admission price also includes things like the crafts and materials, making Underwater Street a hands-on experience that will ensure you and the kids have a day to remember.
