Otherworldly: Badlands National Park in South Dakota

By Jody Halsted August 7, 2019

Big Horn Sheep in Badlands National Park, South Dakota

As I tried to imagine westward settlers viewing this area for the first time, all I could think was that to many it would seem that the flat, grassy prairie gave way to an otherworldly landscape of buttes and bluffs filled with animals they had never seen before.

America’s First National Park : Yellowstone

By Jody Halsted April 9, 2014

Believed to be first seen by European American eyes in 1806, the descriptions of what was to be come Yellowstone National Park weren’t believed for over 60 years.
